Barista

The Lord Baltimore Hotel is a rich historical hotel offering class and charm, located in downtown Baltimore.  We are in search of a “rock star” Barista to greet guests in our café.  The Barista for the Lord Baltimore Hotel is an hourly nonexempt position, reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager. The right candidate has impeccable costumer service skills and loves interacting with people.  What you will do to be successful in this role:

Responsibilities:

• Prepare coffee drinks and other drinks such as smoothies
• Create new coffee drinks
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other menu items
• Interact with customers in a personable service-oriented manner
• Packing to-go orders
• Offer warm and friendly greeting as customers arrive
• Collecting payments via cash or credit cards
• Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
• Troubleshooting any problems with equipment and scheduling repairs when needed
•  Outstanding customer service skills
• Good written and verbal communication
• Wash dishes and other equipment
• Ensure that tables and café are kept neat and clean

Requirements

• Basic math skills
• Familiarity with local food safety regulations
• Food Safety Certification is a plus
• Guest Service Experience (a plus)
• Flexible Schedule
• T.I.P Certification Preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

• Work requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Work requires visual acuity, normal hearing, and speech as well as mental preparedness to work varying shifts, extended shifts, weekends, and holidays, under various conditions.

Compensation, Perks and Incentives

$15 -$16 per hour
