Lord Baltimore Hotel

The Lord Baltimore Hotel is a rich historical hotel offering class, charm, and elegance, located in downtown Baltimore. The Cook for the Lord Baltimore Hotel is an hourly nonexempt position, reporting to the Executive Chef. The Cook will provide assistance wherever is needed in the kitchen and communicate with wait staff and servers to ensure food is prepared safely.

Responsibilities:
•  Ensuring that ingredients and final products are fresh.
•  Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
•  Bake grill Steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods.
•  Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.
•  Occasionally serve food.
•  Maintain and clean the kitchen, ensuring a safe work area, handle and wash equipment and 
dishes.
•  Handle and store ingredients and food.
•  Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
•  Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
•  Execute opening and closing procedures when necessary.
•  Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
•  Monitor station inventory levels.
•  Accommodate guest’s special requests via wait staff and servers.
•  Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
•  Assist with banquet events.
•  Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
•  Previous serving experience required
•  Excellent oral communication skills required
•  Positive interpersonal skills required
•  English fluently and be able to write in basic English (Spanish is a plus)
•  Food Handlers Card OLCC Certification
•  Good telephone speaking and listening ability
•  Team player
•  Flexible schedule

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
•  Ability to carry, lift and push up to 100lbs
•  Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
•  Fluent English/Spanish is a plus.
•  Work requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
•  Work requires visual acuity, normal hearing, and speech and mental preparedness to work.
