Conference Services Manager

The Lord Baltimore Hotel is a rich historical hotel offering class, charm, and elegance, located in downtown Baltimore. We are in search of a “stupendous” Conference Services Manager to achieve success for groups by understanding and effectively communicating with clients and departments within the hotel in an efficient and timely manner. The ideal candidate will work with guests, associates, and vendors and is an integral part of the sales team. The Conference Services Manager will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing.

•Work cohesively and provide organizational support to t he sales and catering team
•Serve on-site groups and catering clients in a proactive manner
•Provide support for group logistics, including room blocks, food and beverage, meeting space, AV equipment and billing
•Maintain and log client communication in salesforce
•Maintain communication via phone, email and in meetings
•Attend daily standup and business review meetings.
•Work closely with sales managers to endure client satisfaction
•Prompt handling of inquiry calls
•Monitor efficient flow of paperwork
•Have acquired knowledge and the ability to upsell clients
• Promote a level of service that commensurate with the hotel standards
• Generate thank you notes to clients
• Prompt follow up for all client feedback
• Ability to conduct hotel site tours
• Visionary to provide suggestions for set up of events onsite/offsite as well as menus
• Work closely with banquet department on operations and event execution
• Provide overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of event operations
• Detailing for group banquet event orders, banquet checks and group resumes
• Monitor group room blocks and pick up
• Ability to collaborate with outside vendors as needed
• Other duties as assigned

•3+ years as a conference services manager in a full-service hotel or conference center environment
•Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Preferred experience working with Sales Force and Social Tables
•Proficient in MS Office Suite
•Excellent oral, written, organization and communication skills
•Ability to understand the hotel’s mission
•Ability to understand guests needs
