Banquet Facilities Technician
The Lord Baltimore Hotel is a rich historical hotel offering class, charm, and elegance, located in downtown Baltimore. The Banquet Facilities Technician for the Lord Baltimore Hotel is an hourly nonexempt part-time position, reporting to the Banquet Manager. The Banquet Facilities Technician is an integral part of the Food and Beverage Team and works in tandem with the hotel’s engineering team to ensure the hotel’s event spaces and equipment are in excellent shape for rental events. The Banquet Facilities Technician is onsite from event set up to breakdown and handles all physical logistics. Other responsibilities assigned by the Banquet Manager include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
· Set up tables and chairs for events
· Put on tablecloths, chair covers, centerpieces, etc.
· Transport food items
· Greet and check in vendors, products and equipement needed for events
· Maintain, repair and clean hotel’s rental/banquet rooms
· Assemble equipment such as dance floors, podiums, speakers, monitors, audio visual and more
· Set up and breakdown all events, including all décor, refreshing banquet rooms after events
· Maintain care and inventory of equipment and storage areas
· Record damages to Banquet Manager and make repairs as assigned
· Keep a running list of repairs that are made via the “repair order calendar”
· Setting up rooms per client’s needs via Banquet Event Orders
Attend regular Food and Beverage meetings
· Accompany Banquet Manager on site visits (if necessary)
· Works with the hotel’s engineering department as assigned
· Other duties as assigned
Experience
• Previous experience in hospitality or facilities management is preferred.
• Strong background in customer service, with an emphasis on guest relations.
• Familiarity with food handling practices and culinary operations is a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this
role.
